Before establishing Outside Consultants with Lynn Taylor in September 2000, Martin had fourteen years’ policy research experience in local government, private sector consultancy and higher education.  Most of those years were spent working for Bradford City Council, Kirklees Metropolitan Council and the Policy Research Institute at Leeds Metropolitan University.
Martin is the lead Consultant here on housing markets, affordable housing, strategic planning and management development.  He has considerable knowledge of research methods, strategy development and policy formulation in the public sector.  He has skills in and knowledge of housing, social care, planning, regeneration, information systems, information management and community development.
Martin has been the Project Director for a wide variety of clients including local authorities, health authorities, government departments, universities and voluntary sector agencies.

Prior to co-founding Outside Consultants in September 2000, Lynn had fourteen years’ experience of policy research, community development and information management in housing and social care.
Having worked in local government, the voluntary sector and higher education in Leeds, Bradford and Keighley she has considerable knowledge of public services and, in particular, inter-agency and partnership working.  Working with local people in Keighley on community engagement and regeneration projects gave Lynn considerable experience of rural deprivation issues.  She also has experience of working with churches and ecumenical church groups in a social policy and community development context.
Lynn is the lead Consultant at Outside Consultants on housing needs of vulnerable groups, health and social care, information management and information systems analysis.  She has led commissions over the last decade for Citizens Advice, drug and alcohol agencies, third sector bodies and local government.
