Housing and health in Tamworth

Martin Browne has recently completed a study that examines the evidence of the linkages between housing markets and health outcomes in Tamworth. The in-depth report, using a nationally-recognised public health analytical framework, looks in detail at aspects of the home, access to a home, neighbourhood factors and individual behaviour to identify the housing markets issues that impact upon health outcomes for the people of Tamworth. If you are interested in knowing more about this innovate piece of work and how it will influence policy development in this area please get in touch.

Housing targets in Herefordshire

Changes in the regional planning regime have led to uncertainty in the adoption of local housing targets. Herefordshire CPRE commissioned Martin Browne to review Herefordshire's housing targets in the light of these changes. A paper was written that questioned the assumptions behind the evidence, considered the robustness of key population and household projections and looked at alternatives for setting housing targets with the aim of demonstrating that an unquestioning approach to the adoption of housing targets set by regional plans will not ensure transparent and robust local policy that meets the needs of local people and their families.

Back to school!

Over the next couple of months, we get to go back to school and spend time in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales at the same time! And get paid for it! Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority has appointed Outside Consultants to evaluate their outreach work with Eastwood Primary School in Keighley. A short, focussed piece of work to determine through questionnaires, focus groups and interviews the extent to which the outreach work has raised awareness of the Dales as a leisure destination and/or resulted in more visits to the Dales. Did I mention, we get paid for it too!!! Brilliant!
